Dick LaFave Commedation Award
Dick LaFave was one of the most committed high school swimming officials in Washington high school swimming history. He contributed both his time and expertise as a stroke and turn judge, meet starter and meet referee for over thirty years in dual, League, District meets, as well as State Championships. Dick was the meet referee for the Washington State High School Swim and Dive Championships from 1977-2008.
The Dick LaFave Commendation Award is in honor of one of Washington high school swimming’s most beloved volunteers. Nominees must have demonstrated the same passion for giving as the award’s name sake.
